About Me

Thanks for visiting my site! I’m Drew Humphrey. Here you’ll see a collection of my work — landscapes, portraiture, and weddings. I used to do a lot more client work, but now I mainly shoot as a hobby. In my day job, I’m a management consultant and, before that, studied Industrial Engineering at Georgia Tech. With a technical background like that, you might wonder why I enjoy photography.

I picked up a camera one day because I wanted to learn how to be creative. Since I was a kid, I thought engineers weren’t meant to be creative, and I wanted to find something that would combine technology with art. Photography is exactly that combination. Ever since I picked up my first camera, I've grown my passion for my business and my images.

Client work

A few months after picking up my camera, I started photographing weddings. Shooting my first wedding in January 2016, I learned the trade by working with a few Atlanta-based professionals.  These photographers accelerated my learning and they substantially influence my style to this day. I've shot around 30 weddings in total, and over that time I fell in love with the work and telling stories through beautiful imagery.

Also, while in college, I photographed football games, senior portraits, and events.  My clients included AT&T, Porsche North America, Virginia Commonwealth University, Florence Healthcare, the Georgia Tech Student Foundation, IMG Sports Marketing, Greek organizations, and dozens of individuals and other GT organizations.

Personal projects

I love event, wedding, and portraiture work, but I am also passionate about landscape and adventure photography. My job enables me to travel, so I’ve had the opportunity to shoot in some amazing places. Travel has deeply influenced my love for the natural world.

I recently returned from an expedition to Svalbard and will also be spending two weeks in Tanzania later this year.

Outside of photography and travel, I enjoy cycling and cars.
